Saraba

This drink is commonly found in South Sulawesi, especially along the road in the city of Makasar or in Losari coast. Saraba is made from milk, eggs, ginger, coconut milk and smoothly crushed brown sugar.

Saraba is often served on a friendly chat amongst Makasar people at night. Not only known as a hot comfort drink, but saraba is also believed to generate stamina for men, give energy to lethargic body and eliminate the cold. Usually saraba is enjoyed together with a serving of pisang epe, or grilled banana which is smeared with liquid brown sugar.
