Kue Rangi or sagurangi is a traditional Betawi cake that is still easily found in Jakarta. It is made of grated coconut and sago starch and then grilled using firewood to enhance the aroma.  The topping is usually only melted brown sugar thickened by sago although some will add pieces of fruit such as pineapple, jack fruit or durian.
