Triton is one of Papua’s traditional musical instrument made of large swirling shell. At first it was made as a tool for communication and then evolve into what it is now, a media of entertainment. Triton can be found in almost all coastal area of Papua such as Raja Ampat Isles, Biak, Wondama Bay, Yapen Waropen, and Nabire.
Tifa is a traditional musical instrument of Papua that is made out of log. One of it’s end is covered by dried animal skin such as deer. Each tribe in Papua has their own specification of Tifa, usually on its carving. Tifa is usually played on a traditional ceremony, welcoming an important guest or accompanying a dance.
Kue Rangi or sagurangi is a traditional Betawi cake that is still easily found in Jakarta. It is made of grated coconut and sago starch and then grilled using firewood to enhance the aroma. The topping is usually only melted brown sugar thickened by sago although some will add pieces of fruit such as pineapple, jack fruit or durian.
